You Will Be Missed: Pledge Class 2010

Senior Circle Degree

Our seniors have went through the Circle Degree, have had their Pansy Brunch and have now graduated. You will be extremely missed. You have went through the new member program, endured homecomings, countless bid days, became littles, became bigs, found your best friends, volunteered countless hours, watched your best friends graduate, recruited fabulous new pledge classes, lived with over 80 girls in one huge sorority house, cried on a sister’s shoulder, had a sister cry on your shoulder, found out who you are and left a legacy.

We hope you cherish the moments and memories you have made within your years at college. Remember being a Tri Delta lady is for life, not just four years. We can’t wait to watch you grow and go out into the real world.

After Cirlce Degree, we had our annual Pansy Brunch. We loved having alumnae, parents and sisters get together to celebrate the wonderful pledge class of 2010. Every year one senior is awarded the Outstanding Senior Award, and this year the award was given to Allison Christian. Allison has held positions as Academic Chair, New Member Educator and Chapter President. Allison demonstrates the true characteristics of a Delta lady.

Why My Big Rocks: Samantha to Danielle

Bigs: Mentors, best friends, shoulders to cry on and so much more.

An interview with Samantha Sturtevant on her big, Danielle Farrar:

My big rocks because she is real. She doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her, and I love that! She’s so funny, outgoing and is always there when I need her.”

My “love story” with my big actually started on Bid Day. She was one of the first people I met at the house. So when we went on a sponsor date and found out we had met earlier, we clicked right away especially while talking about our love of VH1 countdown shows. We only went on one sponsor date, but we both knew we had found our big/little pair.”

My big is always there for me no matter what. I can tell her anything, and she doesn’t judge. She was really there for me when I was going through a rough patch during spring semester. I was just done with school, people and just wanted to go home. But she calmed me down, talked me through it all, and made me feel a lot better and not so homesick. I will probably always be thankful for that moment.”

Spring Sing 2014

Ladies and gentlemen, we went for the gold & came out with it!

Expensive frappuccinos, names never spelt correctly, and a place everyone has to admit they have been to a few times – what is the first thing that comes to mind? The Phi Upsilon Tri Delta chapter performed in Spring Sing 2014 with the theme “Starbucks,” during Mom’s Day on April 5, 2014 with the men of Kappa Sigma.

Spring Sing’s theme this year was Roar, and all 11 pairings were required to incorporate a Katy Perry song into their show. The Phi Upsilon chapter won Outstanding Large Ensemble, Best Costumes, and First Place. The fearless directors were **Gamma Chi** (junior), Lisa Patrick (junior), Claire Patton (sophomore), and Elizabeth Gates (freshman).

The show stole laughs by mentioning complicated drink orders, baristas always spelling names incorrectly, and how Starbucks does not compare to local coffee shops. **Gamma Chi**, Claire Patton, Lindsey Sutton (senior), and Mary Mackin (sophomore) participated in either a duet or an ensemble, and Taylor Rogers (freshman) had a solo.

Mom’s Day 2014

Tri Delta ladies love our moms!

Mom’s Day was April 5, and we had possibly our best Mom’s Day Celebration yet! At our celebration, we had a picture taking station, a silent auction, a painting spot outside in the luckily perfect weather and lots and lots of sweet treats! We also had wonderful Italian food catered in by Joseppi’s. We cannot thank our two Mom’s Day chairs, Ashton Lieberman and Kaleigh Mangrum, for putting on a successful Mom’s Day Celebration.

Spring 2014 Big/Little Night

One of the best days of Panhellenic life: BIG/LITTLE NIGHT!

Sponsor dates, crafting, sparkles and T-shirts explain the outer appearance of preparing for Big/Little Night. Big/little pairing is so much more than that, though. Finding a big is finding a mentor. Finding a little is learning how to be a mentor. It’s always having someone to look up to. It’s always being able to depend on someone.

When you receive a big, you also receive a family. When pairing bigs and littles together, the family is also considered. It’s a work of art, and it’s a magical process. Snaps to all the Sponsor Chairs out there who pair the bigs and littles together. Panhellenic life would not be what it is today without big/little pairings.

For our spring 2014 Big/Little Night, the bigs were wrapped in wrapping paper where only their socks were exposed. Once the littles arrived at the house, they were given socks that they had to match to a sister wrapped in wrapping paper. It was quite a show watching the littles try to unwrap their big.

Bid Day: Fall 2013

Fall recruitment came and went so fast. It was so exciting seeing all the wonderful new women who were about to find their home away from home at Oklahoma State University. With one semester of practices, a mid-summer workshop and one full week of crucial preparation, fall 2013 recruitment started, and we received the best pledge class we could have asked for. We are so thankful for the classy and spunky ladies that joined our fall 2013 pledge class.
